Mission

OUR MISSION: to address discrimination and promote diversity.

How we do it:
Education: programs that educate and give people tools to make a difference.
Arts Programs: activities that use at as a tool to immerse and engage.
Community Involvement: participation in events and networks/association.
Supporting Youth Ideas: giving support to youth who have ideas to make their schools and commmunities better places; help through funding and organizationally.

Our organization is unique in many ways. Not only are we youth led, but we also take an inclusive approach to diversity. This means we look at different forms of discrimination (homophobia, sexism, racism...) in parallel, and through their intersections (ex. how sexism and racism affects a woman of colour). We are also unique because our programming reaches out not just to the marginalized/minority populations, but also to the general population (ex. Educating straight people on homophobia), thereby engaging them in taking a proactive role in preventing discrimination by promoting diversity themselves.

Today Jer’s Vision runs over 40 initiatives, using the talents of 800 volunteers, and serving 20,000 people annually. We have received awards from the Province of Ontario, City of Ottawa, Toronto Pride and Do Something Inc.
